Tennessee time

I have made my own tradition of going to see my grandparents every Thanksgiving in Tennessee. This will be my third year, and I can't wait to go. I love going on road trips, and making memories. In the past I have brought a friend, but this year my mom is going with me. My grandparents are honestly my best friends. I feel like they are my parents, and they are amazing people. My grandfather was in the air force, and my grandmother raised her six brothers and sisters when her mother had died when my grandma was only 18. These are just two amazing things about them. I love hearing their stories, and how they survived life. My grandpa didn't get far in school, but he is the smartest man I know. Along with these trips comes some randomness. While Madison and I were there last year my grandpa started pulling out alcohol from forever. Then he got to a little tiny medicine bottle. I had no clue what it was...then he says "this is 120 proof.....moonshine" It was so funny to me that he had this. It's illegal, and in many old country songs...In the middle of the night we stole it to take pictures. Just the smell of it could knock you over. He won't tell us where he got it from, just that it came from the "hill people" riiggghhhht. So change of subject but I have been finding these little awkward worm type bugs all over my house. Two were in my room, one in the kitchen, and one on my bed!!! Sickkkkk. I caught two of them and brought them over to our family get together to learn that everyone knew what they were...pantry pests. Cute. My uncle said they are only killed by bombing the place, and setting up traps. He said they eventually grow wings. I asked him what stage the horns come in, geesh. I'm totally grossed out to sleep in my bed. I set up two traps, and got a bomb for when I leave. Ewwwwwwww

Praise You in this storm

I had a couple of down time days, and they weren't fun at all. This song by Casting Crowns is just so powerful. Every time I hear it, I get goosebumps. Even during bad times we need to still praise Him through it all. I have learned that if I let myself sit in my sadness, satan wins. I'm to the point where no matter what, I will still give Him all of me. Whatever satan tries to throw at me to bring me down, it won't matter. I will still praise Him.

I was sure by now,
God, that You would have reached down and wiped our tears away,
stepped in and saved the day.
But once again, I say amen and it's still raining as the thunder rolls I barely hear
You whisper through the rain,
"I'm with you"and as Your mercy falls I raise my hands and praise the God who gives and takes away.
And I'll praise you in this storm and I will lift my hands for
You are who You are no matter where I am and
every tear I've cried
You hold in your hand
You never left my side and though my heart is torn I will praise You in this storm
I remember when I stumbled in the wind
You heard my cry to You and raised me up again my strength is almost gone
how can I carry on if I can't find You and as the thunder rolls I barely hear
You whisper through the rain "I'm with you"and as
Your mercy falls I raise my hands and praise the God who gives and takes away
I lift my eyes onto the hills where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth
I lift my eyes onto the hills where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth

Updates!!!

So kickboxing was a little better this week. I actually brought my mom this time as a guest. She's a cute little mom. She was nervous, but she got the hang of it. That class really motivates me to get back into my healthy habits. So this is really random, but has anyone attempted to do a somersault as an adult? I haven't in years. I was just wondering if anyone suffered injuries after doing one? I did one, and gave myself a migraine, and hurt my back. Who invented those anyways? We are not rollie pollies. It's alright though, it made the kid laugh, and that's all that matters. I have recently been addicted to the game text twist. If you have never played it, it's amazing. I decided to buy it so I can play it during my finance class. I no longer know anything that is happening during class. It has completely stolen my attention. Anyways I have to get going to class. Hope everyone's week is going well!!

I didn't sign up for boot camp

I take the kickboxing class at Lifetime every Tuesday night...It alternates between a guy, and girl trainer. It's a moderate class, so I know it won't be the easiest. Last night it felt like I was at boot camp. We did so much stuff it's not even right. And if you leave the class full of 80 people you look like a wimp. Even half way through it I was struggling to stay on my feet. I woke up this morning feeling paralyzed! Muscles I didn't think I had are introducing themselves painfully for the first time. I love it though. Anyways, I almost adopted a kitten the other day, but found out while in the "aquaintence room" Madison and I are both most likely allergic. Glad we found that out before we got it. Hope everyone is having a great week!!!
